Chapter 01 of 06
Introduction
Why Buio exists and the problem it sets out to solve.
The problem
Public blockchains made it possible to move value without an intermediary, but they did it at a cost. Fees spike when the network is busy, confirmations take minutes, and self-custody asks users to manage keys most of them do not understand.
Our approach
Buio is a settlement network built for everyday use. It keeps the guarantees that make blockchains worth using, open access, verifiable state and user custody, and removes the friction that keeps people away.
What this paper covers
The chapters that follow describe how the network reaches consensus, how the BUIO token is issued and used, how decisions are made, how the protocol is secured and what we plan to ship next.
